Welcome. This small website provides information on walking the GR65, or Via Podiensis Pilgrimage Route from Le Puy in France to St Jean-Pied-de-Port on the border with Spain. This is part of the Way of St James route which joins up with the more famous “Camino” to Santiago in Spain.

The site is part guide, part love letter. My name is Tom Caley, and I walked the route in May – June 2016. I’ll remember it always as one of the happiest times of my life. The 4-5 week journey takes you through timeless landscapes, ancient cities, and forests and gorges of the most staggering beauty.

Use the top menu to navigate to the content you’re after.

My full Pilgrimage Diary┬áis available to view, alongside a few articles I’ve labelled Reflections.

For solid practical advice, click on Costs, Guides and Equipment.

Lastly, I produced an all-in-one PDF guide to the route which you can also access, download and take away to plan your walk. Bon chemin.

If you have a question, please leave a comment under the relevant post – I will try to get back to you. For anything else, try the excellent Facebook Group dedicated to the Via Podiensis.
